Shockwave Treatment Process

Shockwave therapy uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues. This process increases blood flow, reduces pain, and promotes tissue regeneration.
- The shockwave therapy process typically involves the following steps:
The patient wears garments that allow access to the treatment area, or a gown or disposable shorts are provided. - The patient is positioned comfortably so the treatment area is accessible.
- A water-based gel is applied to the skin to help deliver the shockwaves deeper into the skin.
- A handheld applicator is moved over the treatment area, slowly increasing the pulses until the therapeutic level is reached.
- The therapist may use either focused shockwave therapy, which sends waves into a small area, or radial shockwave therapy, which delivers shockwaves over a broader area.
